This reflection was created through otter AI.
My dream assortment web page was created out of the desire to understand and recount my dreams through a creative process, as I find dream cataloguing to be very interesting to say the least. A lot of these are dreams that I've had in the past, but some are from very, very recent memory. And I tried to keep as close to my original imagination as possible. However, it is difficult to fully recount them as, in my opinion, dreams start to deteriorate quickly after you wake up.
The images that accompany each dream were created using an AI image generator, using water primarily watercolor sensibilities. The first three images come from the original titles that I had created for each dream; and those titles have now been altered through the n+7 program. Some of which have stayed fairly close to said original titles; and some straying far away, yet keeping that same mood of their relative dreams. The other four images come from basic standout traits and/or visuals from their accompanying dreams. And those dreams, using the Markov generator through charNG, have been greatly altered from what I had originally seen. Using charNG to rearrange my memories in such a fashion was surreal as it brought about a much more appropriate structure for how I remember these dreams playing out in my head. However, the act of destroying and recreating my original words, my original thoughts was uncanny to say the least. And yet, from that, I had been able to open myself up to the possibility of rearranging, destroying, and recreating more of my words for the purpose of this webpage. And this included using the botnik generator to create my intro, which had originally been much more coherent and to the point of what I was trying to get at with this assignment. However, using Radiohead lyrics, I felt I was able to capture a much better essence of the mood of what I was trying to create with this. And as a much simpler example, I had used the anagram generator to significantly alter every single name that was mentioned within the stories; mostly for the privacy of those included, but also to add to that unpredictable, ever-changing feeling and structure that comes with these very vivid dreams of mine.
And finally, when creating this webpage, I had of course used three different Oblique Strategies cards in order to influence how I was able to go about this massive project. First: "don't stress one thing more than another". This had taught me to make sure that I distribute my plans and my focus accordingly, evenly, and appropriately. As well as to not worry so much about the finer details. Second: "faced with a choice, do both". This one I took a little more creative liberty with as going through I had many, many different ideas rolling through my head and different stories to tell. And I wanted something that was very unique, but also very personal (which I feel I was able to accomplish). And of course, with a little bit of leeway, and extra permission, this reflection was also able to be an example of doing both choices. Third: "you don't have to be ashamed of your own ideas". I need to hear this every once in a while. As I sometimes get scared or unconfident in what I believe to be the right path for creative action. And with this project, I needed to be okay with how strange yet ultimately simple it was going to be. And I will say that now I am more than okay with it.
